This project is a dual exploration of the emotional landscapes of love and sorrow, decoded through both music and scent. In a 9-grid series, visuals are used to interpret how music embodies these contrasting emotions. Wen Soon captures the essence of sorrow through visuals representing melancholic music, while Janessa decodes the visual representation of love through melodies filled with warmth and affection. Parallel to this, the project extends into the realm of scent, uncovering the deep connections between emotion and fragrance. For sorrow, the vast, profound aroma of the ocean mirrors feelings of loss and introspection, while the delicate, romantic scent of roses embodies the tenderness of love. Together, this conceptual series reveals how our senses—both auditory and olfactory—profoundly shape our emotional experience of love and sorrow.
